The first Mulberry Bush Sing-Along started in Rochester, NY in 2016. It went from a small meeting of a few families in a local library, to regularly having up to 100 people flood the park on a Wednesday morning for music and dancing.

The success of the group is down to the combination of the commitment of the volunteers who organize it week in, week out, and the community of children and caregivers who come to sing and groove, week after week.

Often out of town guests join and their most common question is, why isn’t there a group like this in my neighborhood? The answer to that is that their should and easily could be. To help that idea of a free sing-along in every neighborhood grow, we decided to start the Mulberry Bush Sing-Along Project.

It is a collection of resources and support to help others start their own sing-along and it is our hope that eventually all children will have the opportunity to attend a free sing-along in their own neighborhood. Our mission is a simple one – to spread community, one song at a time.
